Thomson Reuters drives legal workflow efficiencies through WestlawNext Canada and Practical Law Canada integration

TORONTO (Aug 22, 2018):  Lawyers using Thomson Reuters’ WestlawNext Canada and Practical Law Canada can now instantly put research into practice by accessing content from both services in a single search session. As of August 2018, the WestlawNext Canada interface will feature live links to related Practical Law Canada content. The links within the Practical Law Canada interface to related WestlawNext Canada content will go live later this year.

The integration of WestlawNext Canada and Practical Law Canada provides users with a seamless experience between the two products and drives efficiencies in a lawyer’s workflow. This follows last year’s integration of WestlawNext Canada and ProView, which enabled users to search both platforms simultaneously.

Lawyers who use both Practical Law Canada and WestlawNext Canada already understand the efficiency benefits of using both products. “Practical Law Canada content really helps refine and focus research on WestlawNext Canada,” says Mario Quiquero, Vice President of Product, Content and Operations at Thomson Reuters. “It augments the entire research experience by getting users to relevant answers and practical guidance all within their WestlawNext Canada research session.”

A recent study of lawyers’ use of technology showed that the greatest perceived need among practising lawyers were tools and technologies to improve efficiency. “We’re constantly looking for opportunities to streamline a lawyer’s workflow. To access the benefits of the integrated products, users require subscriptions to both WestlawNext Canada and Practical Law Canada.
