About

Jeffrey W. Lem is certified as a specialist in real estate law by the Law Society of Ontario, where he also serves as an elected bencher. Mr. Lem currently oversees land registration policy at the Government of Ontario and had previously practised commercial real estate law in the private sector, most recently at Miller Thomson LLP and, before that, at Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP, where his focus was on portfolio acquisitions, dispositions, commercial leasing and mortgage lending. Mr. Lem is also the co-editor-in-chief of the Real Property Reports, a regular legal real estate law columnist for Law Times and Building Magazine, and a frequent speaker on real estate law issues at various continuing professional development conferences, both in Canada and internationally. He has been an instructor in real estate law for the Ontario Bar Admission Course, a lecturer in real property law at Bora Laskin Law School at Lakehead University, and the director of the LL.M. Program for Real Estate Law at Osgoode Hall Law School. He is the recipient of the Ontario Bar Association's Award of Excellence in Real Estate Law and the Toronto Law Association's Honsberger Award for contributions to the legal community.
