Shortly after earning his BBA in Management and Entrepreneurship, Eric joined Dr Tax Software in 1997 as part of the Support group. His roles have included managing the Support team, building and managing the Quality Assurance function, and serving as head of Tax Research.

Dr Tax Software joined Thomson Reuters in January 2012. In June 2014, Eric was named General Manager of DT Tax & Accounting, the Canadian software division of Thomson Reuters, working in collaboration with other business leaders from the large (more than 20,000 employees) Canadian multinational mass media and information firm.

Eric serves as the Vice Chairman of Tax-Filer Empowerment Canada, which promotes a greater collaboration between government stakeholders such as the Canada Revenue Agency, the tax preparation and software industry, and Canadians.

Born and raised in the province of Quebec, Eric is fully bilingual. Proud father of three, he is also a devoted golfer and avid fisherman.

Emmy Valmé is a highly skilled Senior Trainer at Thomson Reuters Tax & Accounting (TRTA) with an impressive career spanning over 10 years. Her expertise lies in conducting webinars and personalized training sessions, providing valuable guidance to firms seeking to deepen their learning and optimize the use of TR products.

Her strong project management skills were key to the success of the Digital Spearhead project and the implementation of the learning center. Through her leadership and dedication, she ensured the seamless integration of a streamlined digital experience, significantly enhancing customer’s satisfaction.

Her dedication to advancing training methodologies and helping firms succeed with their implementation sets her apart as a true leader in the field of product training.

Gerry Vittoratos has been working for Thomson Reuters for over 15 years as a trainer and tax support resource person. In his capacity as head trainer, Gerry has been providing training sessions on various tax topics to tax professionals all over Canada. He has also made several radio and TV appearances on BNN and Global TV as the UFile tax specialist discussing a multitude of tax topics.

Gerry obtained his Master’s degree in Taxation from the Université de Sherbrooke in 2020.

David Caron has been working for Thomson Reuters for over 6 years.

He started off as a Technical Trainer and then Account Representative. Since 2021, he took on the role of Solutions Consultant, supporting our sales team and our clients.

David Caron is a self-proclaimed technology evangelist. He has spent his professional career partnering with accountants and bookkeepers, helping them use technology to grow their business. His favourite thing is transferring his enthusiasm for business development and technology to others.

Maurice joined Dr Tax Software (now Thomson Reuters DT Tax and Accounting) in 2003 as Manager of Software Development and Architect. He has been instrumental to build a development team structure that can work across all products in an Agile methodology. Maurice has been actively working and participating in the CRA and RQ software conference as one of its oldest members.

Maurice holds a BSc Computer Science (1988) from Université de Sherbrooke. He has had various roles in software and email security prior to joining Dr Tax Software.

I’ve been the UX lead on the Canadian Tax and Accounting division at Thomson Reuters since 2017. Previously I designed AI and speech-enabled user interfaces at Nuance Communications for Fortune 500 companies, and helped create an online application that teaches computer animation to youths for the world-renowned TUMO Center for Creative Technologies. At Thomson Reuters, I work with a specialized team to deliver valuable features, with smooth and accessible experiences to our customers. I run user-centered activities such as interviews, user testing and onboarding to ensure that voice of the customer remains central to our work.
